Enrique repeats his controversial statement about Busquets

Spain coach Luis Enrique commented on La Roja's 1-1 draw with Germany today, Sunday, at Al-Bayt Stadium, in the second round of the 2022 World Cup group stage.

 

Enrique said, during the press conference after the match, in the presence of a reporter, that he had a strange feeling, after the opportunity arose to beat Germany, before the latter equalized.

 

But he praised all his players, explaining that their distinction puts him in a problem when choosing the formation.

 

However, Enrique admitted that the Spanish national team was not very accurate with its passes, and did not play interesting football in the second half.

 

He stressed that the German national team tired them, adding: "We had to take the match towards the result we wanted .. We are happy because we are still leaders, and our goal is to beat Japan."


 

He continued, "Jordi Alba is a wonderful player, and there is a negative media campaign against some veteran players, but we do not listen to these voices. I repeat again that I will try to persuade Sergio Busquets to be present in the next World Cup, because his presence is very important."

 

And the former Barcelona coach continued: “I was disappointed not to win. We could have won, but the result of the match is fair.. We have to play in our own style, but the players feel tired and exhausted when they play two games in 3 days.”

 

Regarding his opinion of Qatar hosting the World Cup, he said: "Our training camp at Qatar University is very beautiful, and the preparations are unique. We see things positively in the World Cup, and we also try to gather support and promote human rights."
